Pitch refurbishment in Hackney opening alongside Social housing and Maintenance partners.

Grassroots for Good attended the presentation of a refurbished pitch at their shared venue in Hackney, which will allow wider participation and community sports engagement. We will be working alongside our other partners to ensure shared spaces used for community use and better maintained community sports facilities.

Brian Akintokun, Community Director for Hackney Wick FC community and Grassroots for Good CEO, commented on the new pitch

"We're delighted to see the work that's been done to get the pitch back into community use, as this will be used for some of our community engagement activities to provide safe recreational play to members of the wider Hackney Community. We'd like to thank both Southern Homes and Axis for their work and dedication to grassroots community football/sports"

The site will be earmarked for women and girls games, alongside other forms of community football activities in Hackney.
